How do I scan a vinyl record with my phone?
Open Vinyl Portfolio, tap the camera and point it at the record. You can scan four things:
Can a scanner tell which pressing I have?
A scan finds the album first. A barcode or catalog number usually narrows it to a pressing; a cover scan shows the pressings that share that art so you can pick yours. Each option comes with its label, year, country, catalog number and variant details to check against your copy. How to identify your pressing
What happens after a scan?
Pick your pressing and the record is added with its cover art, its variant drawn as the disc you own, and an estimated value for its condition. Set the condition and what you paid, and it joins your collection's value chart. How record values work
Does it work without a barcode?
Yes. Records pressed before barcodes, and many limited editions, are found by cover, label or catalog number. You can also search by artist and title and pick the pressing from the list.
